The Heidelberg Artists Society was founded in 1964 and has a progressive program, of activities on offer for its members.

Some of the activities of the Society are life drawing, portrait painting, critiques and appraisal days, field excursions and paint-outs, workshops, paint-alongs, demonstrations by leading artists, picnics, instruction videos and books, an annual 4-5 day paint-away, an annual art award, and participation in art shows.
