Heidi Tyrrell is an Australian performer, musician, choreographer, director, and visual artist, best known for her Multicultural Arts Programs, Bellydance Classes, Live Performances, and Community Arts Projects.
Heidi has taught and performed Bellydance under the alias Azura since 1998. Her extensive portfolio spans numerous Celebrity and Corporate events, TV Features, and over 3500 Solo Performances. Her Costume Shop/Dance Studio in Sydney Road Brunswick, Azura's Oasis, was the hub of Melbourne's Bellydance scene for many years.
Heidi's Kinder and School Incursion Programs have toured extensively with Regional Arts Victoria and are currently endorsed by International Multicultural Arts Company Cultural Infusion. Her Team Building, Dance and Fitness Programs have featured across Melbourne's Corporate Sector and Australia's Festival Circuit.
Heidi’s Visual Arts Portfolio is an outpouring of reaction, movement, observation, and flamboyant energy, reflecting her professional life as a dancer, performer and choreographer. The impetus to work between mediums, explore painting alongside drawing, script stories and create sculptural forms including puppets for live performances, perpetuates a fascination for further experimentation, growth and artistic discovery.
Heidi exhibits and sells her original works, creates Public Art Projects, has been the recipient of several Artist Grants, and is currently working toward her Diploma of Visual Art at Melbourne Polytechnic.
Her latest series of Bellydance Classes ReBELLYon-LINE are held Wednesday nights at 6.30pm.
