Awesome Mum
I'm a watercolour artist, specialising in animal portraits. I don't have any art qualifications behind my work, but my art journey began about 20 years ago while completing my Business degree, where I experimented with acrylic paint (as a student, it was the cheapest medium to buy at the time). I found that painting helped me deal with stress. My style was nothing specific - mainly abstract pieces to try and express how I was feeling. It worked.
After graduating, my focus was on my career so I never continued painting.

It wasn't until early this year, whilst going through a marriage breakup I decided to pick up the paintbrush after some 20+ years.
Being a full-time single mum of 2 young children, I thought watercolour would be the perfect medium to experiment with as it was less messy, travelled well, and the clean up was much quicker than any other medium.

At the time, our dog Bear(12yrs), had a serious health scare and I was preparing for the worst, so Bear became my first subject. It was such a confidence boost to receive so much support from family and friends and soon I was inundated with requests and from there, PawtraitsbyKim was created and the rest is history.

I've been painting for about 9 months now so I’m relatively new and still learning my craft.
What I love the most about painting is seeing a customers expression as they collect a finished piece. Priceless and so heartwarming and satisfying.
