Sha Sarwari
Artist
Sha Sarwari is a multidisciplinary visual artist, who came to Australia by boat as a refugee from Afghanistan. Sha holds a diploma of Graphic Design from TAFE (2005) and a Bachelor of Fine Art from the QCA Griffith University (2015).
In his work Sha aim to explore the contemporary discourse of refugee and asylum seeker. His work is influenced by his personal experience of seeking asylum in Australia and the journey that he went through to becoming a refugee. In 2015 Sha was awarded one of the two high commendation prizes for the churchie national emerging art prize. Sha is also the winner of 2016 national Home and art exhibition and prize.
