Nicole Bester
Visual artist, Nature and landscape painter, beginner poet
Nicole is a self-taught Melbourne based artist. Nicole's passion for art developed from a very young age and she has won many art competitions as a child. Inspired by her grandparents who were both artists and who passed on their artistic talents to her, and who she remembers drawing and painting with, Nicole has been holding a pencil and paint brush since she was a baby. Nicole uses a mixture of mediums including acrylic paints, water colours, pencil, fine liner and collage however mainly uses acrylic paints. Inspired by nature, her artworks mostly feature scenery and flowers but she also enjoys creating children's craft activities and face painting at events such as school fetes and fundraisers. Her artworks are bright and colourful and she wants to make others happy when they see her art. Community is at the heart of what Nicole does. Nicole has a strong desire to give back to the community and is extremely passionate about using her art to make a difference in the lives of others and to create positive experiences for others. She donates a portion of proceeds from the sales of selected artworks to charity.
She has partnered with several different not for profit organisations to facilitate fun art activities at fundraising events and family days for not for profit organisations in collaboration with her sister.
This year Nicole has had to adapt and run a number of virtual art workshops via ZOOM.
In 2020 Nicole was one of 100 lucky artists selected to paint a Uoo Uoo as part of the RCH 150 Years Anniversary Art Trail.
Her design will also be featured on the Banyule Youth Fest poster later this year.
