Claire Needham
Claire Needham was born and raised Tasmania. From an early age she has had a penchant for the small details in life, and has always been fascinated by interesting textures, rich colours and intricate patterns. Her practise is primarily photographic, also extending to craft, drawing, painting. Claire's work explores varied themes such as; history, fantasy, urban decay and the natural environment.

Claire graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Tasmanian School of Art, University of Tasmania in 2008; also having a Diploma of Art, Craft and Design from TAFE, both specialising in photography. Her work has been published in Australian Geographic (#98), Tasmanian Land Conservancy website + newsletter.

Claire was recently part of the group exhibition Felt Presence as part of 10 Days on the Island arts festival, curated by Ellie Ray of Devonport Regional Gallery.

Solo exhibitions include If walls could talk…, Entrepot gallery, 2007; Esthetique Noir, Nourish Café, 2008; Enchanted, Wilderness Society Shop gallery, 2008; Third-eye of the Beholder, Top Gallery – Salamanca Arts Centre, 2012; For the Fallen; in Memoria, Rosny Barn – Rosny Farm, 2012.
