    Artist Networking and Life Drawing Series : FREE

    Pinpoint's first ever 'Creative Networking' Program


    Want to connect with other creatives? Foster collegiality? And do so within a social, creative, professional environment?
    Then this Artist Networking and Life Drawing Series is for you.

    These are not ‘classes’ as such, but an opportunity to meet other Pinpoint artists, skill-share, chat about your practice and make connections while engaging in artistic activity. No life-drawing experience or drawing skills necessary. This is a safe, experimental space.  

    Only available to Pinpoint registered artists - especially artists from non-visual, non-drawing areas.

    Hosted by Felicity Gordon in her studio in Watsonia, these life drawing sessions use professional models and industry codes of conduct.

    13 March

    TIME: 7pm - 9pm
    COST: Free

    This series is a pilot program to support creative approaches to developing networks.
    Places are limited and registrations will be taken through an EOI process.

    Pinpoint Professional Development - Event Management : WORKSHOP

    When: Saturday June 15, 10:30-12:30
    Where: Banyule City Council, Level 4, 1 Filntoff St (above WaterMarc), Greensborough 3088

    If you are thinking about producing any type of arts event, from concerts to exhibitions to festivals, then this workshop is for you!

    No matter what size or type of event you are planning, there are some basics that you’ll need to know to ensure you can deliver a safe and well-managed event. This session will help you know where to start with your event planning, what to look out for, and where to go for further information.

    The workshop will run for two hours, with plenty of time for questions. Dr Clare Lade from Latrobe University will present on the basics of planning and producing events, and representatives from Banyule City Council will cover the Council’s event permit application process.

    Art in Public Spaces - information and morning tea : FREE

    If you are interested in, or thinking about applying for our Pinpoint Art in Public Spaces program we’d like to invite you to an event at Hatch Contemporary Art Space on Saturday July 6 from 10.30-12.30

    This will be an informal gathering over tea and cake with an opportunity to hear from previous successful applicants for this program about the application process and their projects.

    You will also have a chance to chat to Banyule Arts and Cultural Development Officer, Nikki Ralston and share thoughts and ideas with fellow artists.

    This is a FREE event but please book your place HERE for catering purposes.

    Pinpoint meet up : DEFAULT

    Looking for another chance to meet up with other friendly Banyule creatives? Interested in chatting to our wonderful Arts Curator ahead of the upcoming professional development session: Pathways to Professional Practice?

    We're having another informal Pinpoint meet up on Thursday the 8th of August. Please come along to have a drink and some food and chat to other artists. Our Arts Curator will also be attending and she's keen to find out what you want to know about taking your arts practice to the next level so that she can tailor her upcoming workshop accordingly.

    This evening also ties in with our Chillin' in Banyule Festival so please stay on and here some live music from the wonderful Zen Jackson!

    Pinpoint Professional Development - Pathways to Professional Practice : WORKSHOP

    Are you a visual artists looking to take your practice to the next level?

    This Pinpoint Professional Development Session will be run by Banyule City Council's Arts Curator Steph Neoh.

    Key areas of discussion will include:
    • Professionalism in your practice 
    • Pathways to exhibitions 
    • Writing bios and statements for selection into prizes 
    • Insight into exhibition and award processes
    This session will take place at Hatch and will involve a discussion about the current Works on Paper exhibition, workshopping models for success

    If you have any specific questions that you would like Steph to cover please feel free to send them through in advance toarts@banyule.vic.gov.au with the subject heading Pathways to Professional Practice

    Please note that this session is primarily targeted at visual artists. Another Pinpoint Professional Development workshop, Sustaining Your Practice will be scheduled later in the year and will be relevant to artists and creatives working across all artforms.

    Art in Public Spaces event : DEFAULT

    You are invited a FREE Art in Public Spaces event hosted by local artist Anne Bennett!

    As part of our Art in Public Spaces program Anne has been painting a large-scale work live at the Watermarc complex.

    Come and enjoy some free nibbles, celebrate the projects in this year's Art in Public Spaces program and see Anne's finished painting.

    Beautiful artworks by local children will also be on display in the 'pop-up gallery'.

    Sustaining Your Arts Practice and Creative Self : WORKSHOP

    The Banyule Arts & Culture Team are offering a wonderful opportnity for you to participate for FREE in this professional development workshop run by award winning arts leader Debby Maziarz.

    This interactive 2.5 hour workshop is suitable for creatives working in any art form and will cover the following areas:

    • Articulating your creative vision
    • Setting goals for your practice
    • Knowing your value and money matters
    • Caring for yourself and your practice

    Debby is an experienced community arts leader. She is the founder of Melbourne’s Westside Circus, recipient of SACS Consulting NFP Executive Leadership Award (2009) and a recipient of the Australia Council’s Community Arts and Cultural Development Fellowship (2017). Debby currently works as an independent consultant and support individuals and organisations to develop their ideas and achieve their creative and financial goals and visions
